There’s some terminology and certain codewords that are unique to the world of Goldilocks. Each one will either eventually be fully explained within the story itself, or their meaning can be gleaned from the context of the surrounding text. If you’re confused, feel free to refer to this glossary to clear up what’s what.
When humanity left Earth, they decided to refer to their future goldilocks planet home as the Emerald City, from the Wizard of Oz. As such, most of the other codenames followed the same pattern.
- Emerald City – the goldilocks planet that is the destination of all of humanity
- Yellow Brick Road – the path of trajectory that the fleet of ships are on between Earth and the goldilocks planet
- The Wizard – the terraforming ship that is leading the fleet
- Dorothy – forward command, the ship in charge of the entire fleet – it follows the Wizard
- Tin Man – command ship of the communication group of cruisers
- Scarecrow – command ship of the military escort group of cruisers
- Wicked Witch – command ship of the resupply group of cruisers
- Flying Monkeys – resupply cruisers
- Brick – communications relay dropped every few thousand miles by communication cruisers – allow communication between fleet cruisers
- Detached – a ship that has decided to no longer follow the fleet to the goldilocks planet for whatever reason
That’s it for now. More entries may be added to the glossary as the story progresses.
